Team Shelby raises more than $70,000 to provide medical support and education for children

The love of automobiles brings people together in so many positive ways, and that is exemplified by the charitable efforts of the Team Shelby car club, which raised six figures to help kids in need of medical and educational support.

“While personally attending many of the Team Shelby events around the world, I’m always impressed with the generous, caring nature of the members,” said Aaron Shelby, co-President of the Carroll Shelby Foundation and grandson of Carroll Shelby. “In addition to raising money for the Carroll Shelby Foundation, club members typically donate their money, time, and energy to other local charities. During the 30th anniversary of the Carroll Shelby Foundation, Team Shelby members have certainly demonstrated their commitment to helping others while also enjoying their automotive hobby.”

 

Founded back in 2008 by the man himself, the club has grown to include chapters all over the world, which come together to celebrate all things, Shelby. Membership in the club gives members access to special events and Shelby discounts, as well as a first, peek at Shelby news.

By hosting their own events, many of these chapters raised significant funds usedt o support the Carroll Shelby Foundation’s youth-oriented charitable efforts. Among the largest donations thus far were $35,170 raised by Team Shelby Northeast’s Shelby East Coast Grand Nationals; $27,660 raided by Team Shelby North Texas’ NorthT exas Team Shelby Weekend, and $10,000 raised by Team Shelby Houston’s three-day event.

 

“Fromtrack days to parties, the annual Team Shelby Bash, and fun experiences atlocations like Le Mans, our spectacular activities also often support non-profit organizations,” said Tracey Smith, International Director of TeamShelby and Executive Vice President of Carroll Shelby International. “This philosophy tracks Carroll’s way of life and I believe that he’d be very proud of Team Shelby members for continuing his legacy.”

In just four months the various Team Shelby chapter raised a whopping $72,830 forthe Carroll Shelby Foundation’s charitable endeavors.  

 “The money raised by these Team Shelby members and directors will help provide medical assistance for those in need, including children, along withe ducational opportunities for young people through automotive and other training programs,” Aaron Shelby. “With these funds, we will be able to help even more kids win the race for life.”

 

In four months, the Team Shelby car club raised $72,830 for the Carroll Shelby Foundation, which will be used to provide medical support for kids with life-threatening diseases and automotive educational opportunities for young people.
