Several months back, we shared that a company in the United Kingdom began taking orders for a hand-built classic Mustang restomod with an electrified powertrain. That company, Charge Cars, recently revealed the production version of the Electric Mustang by Charge.
“We truly believe we have created something unique in the EV world a brand-new,hand-built design icon that gives our customers a genuine emotional connection with their car,” says the company. “We believe in an emission-free future redefining design icons giving them ultimate performance with our in-house lightweight composite panels and EV technology.”
This sleek fastback features an electrified powertrain powered by a 62-kWh battery pack that yields about 200 miles of range and recharges from 20 to 80 percent capacity in about an hour. This drive system delivers 536 horsepower and a stunning 1,106 lb-ft of torque in an instant, which should make for a grin-inducing driving experience as it accelerates from 0-60 mph in under 4seconds.
Of course, all that high-tech luxury comes at acost. Only 499 of these vehicles are set for production at the cost of approximately $450,000 at current exchange rates.
