FIT FOR A KING

Win A 1968 Shelby GT500 KR For As Little As $25

Who wouldn’t love to become the King of the Road behind the wheel of a classic Shelby Mustang? You can donate as little as $25 to a good cause and get a shot at putting a legendary pony car in your driveway.

That cause is supporting the Cobra Experience Museum, which is using the car to help raise funds for its efforts to preserve the Shelby legacy.

“We’re excited to announce our sweepstakes for a first-generation Shelby GT500KR, especially as this rare, low-mileage car is one of only 51 total 1968 fastbacks in this specific color and option configurations,” said Emily Lambert, Managing Director of The Cobra Experience. “The Shelby is particularly special as it a Northern California only car, making it rust free. It was purchased new in 1968 and has had only two owners in its 53 years.”

The grand-prize KR is all original, and completely restored, so it is a worthy addition to any Mustang fan’s collection.

“Carroll Shelby was so passionate about winning that he often said second place was first loser,” Lambert said. “He created the new model to take the ‘muscle car wars’ to an entirely new level. He is famous for beating Chevrolet to the punch with the ‘KR’ name when Shelby heard they planned to use it on a version of the Corvette.”

One of just 51 built in the 1968 model year with a black interior, the grand prize in The Cobra Experience museum sweepstakes is a Shelby GT500KR with Candy Apple Red paint, a 428-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) Police Interceptor V8 engine, an automatic transmission, twist-lock hood pins, chrome bumpers, a twin-exhaust and more.

If you want to take a crack at winning it, you can score 10 (+2 promo) tickets for $25 or as many as 2,600 (+ 520 promo) tickets for $2,000. Just point your browser HERE to score your tickets. The winning ticket is slated for selection at 1:00 p.m. (PST) on June 4, 2022, during the Eighth Annual Cobra Day Car Show at The Cobra Experience.

“Someone will own an amazing piece of automotive history when we announce the winner of the sweepstakes,” Lambert added. “Everyone who participates in the sweepstakes, whether they win or not, will help educate the public about the legacy of Carroll Shelby and his great cars.”
