MUSTANG CLUB OF AMERICA'S 60th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE MUSTANG

Barber Motorsports Park - Birmingham, AL

We recently attended the Mustang Club of America's 60th Anniversary Celebration of the Ford Mustang at the Barber Motorsport Park in Birmingham, Alabama. This has been one of several huge Mustang events held at the Motorsport Park over the years honoring the Mustang. This year's was a three-day event hosting over 1500 vehicles to include about 400 cars judged by certifified Mustang Club of America Judges. More than a 1000 Mustangs were displayed throughout the various showfields and many more in the general parking areas.

The Barber Motorsports Park is an huge 880 acre, multi-purpose racingfacility located on the eastern fringes of Birmingham, Alabama. It was built by George Barber and includes the Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum, which has been named “World’s  Largest Motorcycle Museum” by the Guinness World Records.

The track, which opened in 2003, has a 17-turn,  and 2.38 mile track, on which dozens of Mustangs from classics to the new 2024 Mustangs Dark Horses and the 60 years of Mustang models in between took advantage of during 20-minute racing sessions.

Mustang themed vendors were throughout the showfield and parking areas to include one of our longtime favorites, National Parts Depot.  They have been supplying restoration parts supplier to the hobby for over40 years. Big thanks to Rick Schmitt and his great team of employees.

Another favorite at Mustang events across the country is Dan Neve, who is always there with his, "Cruise for a Cause" for breast cancer and their themed Mustang.
Austin Atwood, the administrator for the Ford special Vehicle Registry, withFord Performance was also in atendence to sign up Mustang for the registry.  If you haven't done it yet, DO IT!  It's well worth the time and effort.

Suzi Sunshine was there with the huge Ford Official Merchandising mobile store.

The line was very long at the Mustang Club of America tent with everybody wanting their MCA Goodiy bags,  MCA merchandise, and signing up for membership and rewenals.
Of course we were there with Mustang Driver Digitial Magazine with publisher John Nichols and his loverly wife,  Sabrina.  They braved the chilly mornings to sell our latest Mustang Driver T-Shirts honoring the 60 years of Mustangs.
